Meat VS No Meat!
For the next few days I am going to conduct an experiment. Lately I have been wondering on the whole Meat VS No-Meat diet and wondering if either would help me. For the next few days I will eat meals that include meat, then for the days after that I will eat only things with NO meat. I would like to determine if I eat more on either diet and if I loose weight with either diet as well. Only time will tell.

I LOVE your persona
At first I thought downgrading from GoogleChrome to the less fancy Mozilla FoxFire was a drag. I mean yeah there are all the nice apps and cool themes but thats nothing compared to the crisp clean look of Chrome. Then I found out you can use this nifty little customization feature called "Personas". You can make your own browser background, use ones others have already made, and preview before using. How fun is that! Right now I am using one that has a blacklight effect being used on bottles of rainbow paint that glow so bright it hurts. In the past I have used a few Go Green! themed ones and a Lady Gaga themed one. It sure is a upgrade from boring gray right? I love it when I am able to give things my own personal touch.

Psychedelic Wonderland: the 2010 calendar
For all you Wonderland lovers here is the perfect calender. Weather it was the classic books-- Or the fanciful films-- That are to blame for the love of Wonderland and its inhabitants. Here is something a little different. A monthly calender featuring Alice and all her shenanigans in tripy psychedelic colors, what could be better? I'll tell you, NOTHING!! Well maybe some pie or cake. But seriously, this is a pretty neat looking calender. Check it out here. Buy it for me here. Ok I guess you can buy one for you if you want too.

If you would like to learn more about the artist (John Coulthart) at his website and check out his other work in his journal/blog. Its worth looking at.

That's a Load of Crock!
Dinner for two, low on food. How do I deal?
Thanks to my sister and her hubby for the lovely Christmas gift of a crock pot. I am now able to pull a meal basically out of my ass.

I was looking in my pantry and saw I had very little food. The cupboards are pretty much bare, a few bulbs of garlic, half a sack of potatoes, a can of tomato pizza sauce. Not much to make a meal out of I thought. But I was thinking, I could make a tomato style soup in my new crock pot! I put the can of sauce in the crock pot, added a few cups of water to thin it out a smidgen. Chopped up garlic and four big potatoes. Added some seasonings, Rosemary, Thyme, Parsley. Found some tabasco peppers and jalapeño hot sauce in the fridge, chopped the peppers and poured about two tablespoons of the sauce in. I then mixed it around a little and turned that baby on for four hours. Still waiting on the results but man does it smell spectacular. I plan on making grilled cheese to go with. Also a sprinkle of cheddar won't hurt the flavor of the soup.

That right there is what I call poor mans meal. Makin' something out of nothing!

I figured I would share a recipe I whipped up. Its quick, simple and surprisingly cheap. Enjoy!

Shoppin List:
2 small pork chops (bone removed)
1 & 1/2 cans of cream of chicken (or mushroom) soup
2-3 hand fulls of thin/fine egg noodles
2 eggs
bread crumbs (seasoned to taste)
grated Italian cheese
1 can of corn
2 cups milk
sprinkle of flour

First preheat oven to 400o. Then cut the pork into small hunks, about 1-2 inch in size, set those aside for now. Spray a medium casserole dish with cooking spray then dump the can of corn (drained) into the bottom of the dish. Mix 1 egg, 1 can of soup, 1 cup of milk, and noodles (uncooked) together in a separate bowl. Add mixture in baking dish. On top of the noodle mixture evenly place the cubed pork hunks. Dust with flour and spread the last egg atop the flour. Then mix together half a can of soup and 1 cup of milk and dump it over the top of the dish. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and grated cheese and cover with foil. Place in oven for 1 & 1/2 hours or until pork is cooked. Take foil off for the last 15 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Everyday is EARTH DAY!

"First in my prayer, before all other deities,

I call upon Gaia, Primeval Prophetess . . .

The Greek great earth mother."

~Aeschylus

So, as many of you know today/yesterday is/was Earth Day. Hopefully you helped out in some way or another. The reason I am getting this posted about an hour past Earth Day is because I had given up computer usage for Earth Day. Earth day is a day dedicated to help keep our lady Gaia (the earth) clean and healthy.

Today to help out with the wonders of being a good Samaritan, I helped my brother recycle plastic bags at the Giant Food Store, cleaned out some of my soda cans which will be later recycled. I kept off the computer till now, although others were using it. I did my best to help out in the small ways that should be done everyday. From now on I will make my everyday and Earth Day!

I have a question. Why is it so hard for some one to maybe turn off a few lights during the day? Or even limit them selves to how long they spend on the computer or watch TV? How come it is so difficult to recycle cans and bottles instead of sending them to the landfill? Why won't people help out but picking up their butts from smoking and putting them in a butt bucket or trashcan(after they are for sure out)? Why can't we turn the water off while brushing our teeth or take shorter showers? Also using cloth bags would help cut back on the waste of the plastic ones, or the plastic ones could be taken to be recycled. Things like this are so simple yet people don't notice how much it could help if done on a wide scale. I will admit it I am not 100% Eco-friendly but I try my darnedest to do things earth friendly. From now on I will do my best to GO GREEN!

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Say no to bill H.R. 669!

There is a bill before congress which is called the H.R. 669 - The Nonnative Wildlife Invasion Prevention Act. This bill is basically saying all animals which are not native to America will be illegal to own, breed, and sell. This will make many businesses go down the toilet and a lot of jobs will be lost. Not to mention our beloved animal friends will be terminated for no fault of their own.

This will include almost all aquarium fish, including Betta fish and even the most common of all goldfish. Pet rodents such as hamsters, gerbils and guinea pigs will also be affected along with reptiles and birds. Even some species of dogs and cats may be affected by this. The jobs of pet store owners and the employees are at stake. If you care for the jobs of pet shop workers or animals in general whether or not they are yours or someones you know please take the time to watch this YouTube video and check out the website mentioned in it. You can also go right to the website if you don't want to watch the video but I recommend it.

Please help me in the fight to save our animal friends as well as the jobs of workers in pet stores everywhere in the USA. Thank you.
